Then said, “Be brave now.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“So dramatic,” I said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She laughed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Laughing after something painful without pretending it hadn’t hurt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I don’t know what Richard would have done if I’d been at that birthday party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
